DLSP FC 71 Clontarf FC 10

The Salmo Under 17s rounded off a very successful Mini Youth season for the club in tremendous fashion in Suttonians RFC on Monday afternoon when they comprehensively beat old rivals Clontarf with a final score of 71-10.

Cheered on by a great Salmo supporting contingent, they scored a try after only 40 seconds, but Clontarf came back immediately and only resolute excellent defence kept Tarf out over a sustained period of attack. Salmo got some momentum back after that and scored again in the 30th minute, and then twice more before halftime to lead 26-0 at the break.

A try in the second minute after the resumption effectively put the game to bed, and while Clontarf did come back and score a couple of tries, Salmo deservedly finished the game out with a couple of further fine tries and were on the attack to the end.

A great performance which epitomised the focus, drive and togetherness of this smashing squad.
